The solution for that is fixing the samplingrate to 48000Hz, witch is as fare as I know only possible using arts. When I had a short look on the 2.6.7 Changelog I was really looking foreward, cause the was a lot done on the alsa integration, but when I first started kde after compiling the new kernel (alsa compiled in the kernel not as a module), sound came with a integrated reverb effect and not button to switch it off.
