hallo,

on a number of systems that I upgraded from 2.6.6 and 2.6.7 to 2.6.8, mozilla
can no longer access my pop3 mail account, neither can I when using telnet:

telnet pop3.skynet.be 110

and the connection hangs until I interrupt it.  Same thing when I try this from
tcl/tk (wish).  strace shows it hangs on recv on Redhat, on a Debian system it
showed select.

patch-2.6.8-rc2 is +3Mb zipped, so if anyone would know where to start looking,
much appreciated!

 I see the same problem with 2.6.8-rc2 pop3 and skynet.be, but...
 everything work perfectly with my account on scarlet.be so I wonder
 is linux or skynet the culprit?

Hi!

Maybe you need set 

net.ipv4.tcp_default_win_scale 

sysctl value to 0.

sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_default_win_scale=0

looks like a broken firewall which mangling the TCP window scale option
