If I had just bothered to diff the dmesg:es properly I would have found
the problem... Sorry for the noice.

Bjorn, the 3c59x driver breaks on this system, but only in one specific
slot. lspci -vv included.

(The problem is still present on 2.6.12 so I haven't just tried 2.6.10.)
