The cogito shell scripts don't buy you as much as they once did.   For
example, the above procedure in raw git, is:

git clone
rsync://www.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git
linux-2.6

cd linux-2.6
make menuconfig
