Hello,
Apologies in advance, as this is my first bug report for the kernel. I would
appreciate a lot for any time spent on solving the issue.
We're running Gentoo Linux x86_64 with kernel 3.9.10 as a guest OS under VMware
host (VMware vCenter Server 5.0.0).
Problem summary:
Kernel panic occurs during nightly backup maintenance of the host system (causes
heavy I/O load on all guests -- there are around 60 virtual machines in total).
This issue happens randomly and always under stress I/O load. It does not
happen every night, just occasionally.
Attached is the call trace in the console (unfortunately, I was not able to get
this trace report in the logs as the error seems to have occurred in the
pvscsi). I hope it helps somehow.
Additional modules used: PVSCSI VMWare Paravirtual SCSI driver, VMXNET3 VMware
network driver
