Hi all-

Sorry, this is later than I had hoped to send this.  This series has
three minor fixes for mpx and the instruction decoder.

Changes from v1:
 - Dropped the TIF_IA32 change -- let's defer that until at least 3.20.
 - Fixed the MPX decode short-circuit.  v1 was buggy.
 - Patch 3 is new.  It fixes a minor regression from the MPX work.

If next_byte + sizeof(t) == end_kaddr, then we are trying to read
exactly to the end; this should be allowed.

I wasn't paying much attention to the world for the last couple weeks,
and I didn't notice that it was already fixed.

Otherwise, this looks OK to me.  Have you tested this at all?  I know
you don't have any MPX hardware, but you can still hack something in to
point the instruction decoder at an MPX binary.

I haven't tested this at all.  ISTM it's more likely that any test
hack I write for this will mask any problem than that it will be a
real test.

That being said, it should be okay, given that the condition was
already there later in the function.

This is completely and totally broken when there is an instruction
prefix.  Instruction prefixes which occur before the opcodes in the
buffer, so buf[0] is not necessarily insn->opcode.bytes[0].

This was immediately obvious when I actually ran this code for the first
time, even on hardware without MPX.

My apologies -- I misunderstood what insn->opcode.bytes did, and I
assumed that the original code intentionally did the same thing.

[PATCH 3.19 v2 3/3] x86: Enforce MAX_INSN_SIZE in the instruction decoder

The instruction decoder used to assume that the input buffer was
exactly MAX_INSN_SIZE bytes long.  Now that the input buffer has
variable length, even if the input buffer is longer than
MAX_INSN_SIZE, we should still reject instructions longer than
MAX_INSN_SIZE, since a real CPU will reject them even if they're
otherwise valid.

Other than potentially confusing some of the decoder sanity checks,
I'm not aware of any actual problems that omitting this check would
cause.

It's worth noting that MAX_INSN_SIZE is incorrectly set to 16.  This
patch doesn't change that.  I'll submit a fix for that later.

Hm, this patch logic is OK, but the comment is a bit odd.
As you said, if the current code incorrectly set MAX_INSN_SIZE to 16,
the comment should not say "15" without changing MAX_INSN_SIZE itself.

Others are OK for me.
