Subject: crash in acpi_ns_detach_object in 4.3.3
Date: Tue, 29 Dec 2015 23:05:41 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <568303B5.5000609@gmx.de> (raw)

The screen shots in [1] and [2] happened after I plugged + unplugged my ThinkPad T440s into/from the docking station. I did that to investigate why after few s2ram / docking cycles the external monitor stays black when docked. This did not happen with 4.1.7, I'm unsure if this was the case with 4.2.7 (always 64 bit hardened Gentoo Linux)

When the monitor stays black then the log is full of lines like :

...
Dec 29 20:22:00 t44 kernel: [drm:ffffffffc04f14c8] *ERROR* too many voltage retries, give up
Dec 29 20:22:00 t44 kernel: [drm:ffffffffc04aa7ec] *ERROR* Unclaimed register before interrupt

but today the crash occurred and the internal speaker was yelp'ing till I pressed the power button.
