just got that message when I tried to mount a cd

Is this repeatable?  If so, are you able to devise a formula which allows
others to releat it?

oh yes I tried to record a cd and something tried to mount the empty
cd - mount uses to segfault there.

ok that problem is solved I set up scsi emulation for the cd/dvd
recorder which didn't work correctly, but it works fine with ide/ATAPI
support!
