Description: e1000e get error msg Tx Unit Hang after certain amount of
time.
Affected/Tested kernel: Tested on kernel 2.6.26.5 and 2.6.27-rc9, both
have the same problem.
How to repeat: while the system is started up, e1000e (intel 82567LM)
works at the begining, but after some network traffic (I did rsync), the
kernel print the following message and the NIC is brought down, link is
100Mbit.

Keywords: netdev, e1000e, 82567LM, Thinkpad T400

PLATFORM: Thinkpad T400 2767MU5, Processor is Intel Core2 P8400, RAM is
2G DDR3, MB is GM45 (ICH9), with 82567LM ethernet intergrated. The
wireless card 5100AGN is also don't work (too much Oops message, I can
try to log/trace the Oops message if somebody think it's neccessary.)

passing acpi=off to kernel cmdline will solve the problem (but a kernel
without acpi is urgly -_-). I search via google and some body said it's
probably due to a buggy eep, but under the preloaded Windows XP the NIC
works perfect. I also check this page:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1463045&group_id=42302&atid=447449

sounds like it's a very old problem and have been solved before?

the detailed message and sysinfo is in the attachment.

  Best wishes.
