From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Eric Dumazet Subject: [PATCH net-next] tcp: tcp_make_synack() consumes dst parameter Date: Mon, 04 Jun 2012 08:33:21 +0200 Message-ID: <1338791601.2760.1725.camel@edumazet-glaptop> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: netdev To: David Miller Return-path: Received: from mail-wg0-f42.google.com ([74.125.82.42]:43567 "EHLO mail-wg0-f42.google.com" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1753500Ab2FDGdZ (ORCPT ); Mon, 4 Jun 2012 02:33:25 -0400 Received: by wgbds11 with SMTP id ds11so2126707wgb.1 for ; Sun, 03 Jun 2012 23:33:24 -0700 (PDT) Sender: netdev-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: From: Eric Dumazet tcp_make_synack() clones the dst, and callers release it. We can avoid two atomic operations per SYNACK if tcp_make_synack() consumes dst instead of cloning it.
