From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: David Ward Subject: [PATCH iproute2] ip/iptunnel: Extend TOS syntax Date: Sun, 27 Jan 2013 18:04:59 -0500 Message-ID: <1359327899-8153-2-git-send-email-david.ward@ll.mit.edu> References: <1359327899-8153-1-git-send-email-david.ward@ll.mit.edu> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Cc: Timo Teras , David Ward To: Return-path: Received: from MX2.LL.MIT.EDU ([129.55.12.46]:50433 "EHLO mx2.ll.mit.edu" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1753044Ab3A0Xdg (ORCPT ); Sun, 27 Jan 2013 18:33:36 -0500 In-Reply-To: <1359327899-8153-1-git-send-email-david.ward@ll.mit.edu> Sender: netdev-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: The 'inherit/STRING' or 'inherit/00..ff' syntax indicates that the TOS field of tunneled packets should be copied from the original IP header, but for non-IP packets the value STRING or 00..ff should be used instead. (This syntax is already used by 'ip tunnel show'.) Also clarify the man page and the command usage text (particularly that the TOS is not specified as a decimal number).
