From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Ben Hutchings Subject: [PATCH net 2/6] e1000e: Validate hwtstamp_config completely before applying it Date: Thu, 14 Nov 2013 00:41:38 +0000 Message-ID: <1384389698.29151.8.camel@bwh-desktop.uk.level5networks.com> References: <1384389542.29151.5.camel@bwh-desktop.uk.level5networks.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: , Richard Cochran , e1000-devel To: David Miller Return-path: Received: from webmail.solarflare.com ([12.187.104.25]:53485 "EHLO webmail.solarflare.com" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1751924Ab3KNAlm (ORCPT ); Wed, 13 Nov 2013 19:41:42 -0500 In-Reply-To: <1384389542.29151.5.camel@bwh-desktop.uk.level5networks.com> Sender: netdev-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: e1000e_hwtstamp_ioctl() should validate all fields of hwtstamp_config before making any changes. Currently it copies the configuration to the e1000_adapter structure before validating it at all. Change e1000e_config_hwtstamp() to take a pointer to the hwstamp_config and to copy the config after validating it. Compile-tested only.
