many of these bugs seem to be old and need some attention or work
to get resolved.
Would this be useful to regularly run/automate?

Go look at the bug report on bugzilla and do what you can. No one
is going to complain if you can fix it :-) Even if you can't fix
it adding more information, test cases, etc would be helpful

Yes, run it. And add links to the bugs, or at least a generic
URL at the top so people can easily find them:

NOTE:
In Firefox you can create "keyword" bookmarks:

Perhaps we should at least ask the reporters of the older bugs
whether the bugs are still present in newer kernel versions to get
an actual state.
I will do this for the 3c59x related bugs after the release of 2.6.23.
