Sorry, imprecise language. I shouldn't have expressed this in terms of "VLAN-unaware" and "VLAN-aware", but rather, in terms of "Shared VLAN learning" and "Independent VLAN learning". Where the software bridge implementation uses IVL, certain switches might use SVL.
