[PATCH V2 net 1/9] net: hns3: default enable tx bounce buffer when smmu enabled

The SMMU engine on HIP09 chip has a hardware issue.
SMMU pagetable prefetch features may prefetch and use a invalid PTE
even the PTE is valid at that time. This will cause the device trigger
fake pagefaults. The solution is to avoid prefetching by adding a
SYNC command when smmu mapping a iova. But the performance of nic has a
sharp drop. Then we do this workaround, always enable tx bounce buffer,
avoid mapping/unmapping on TX path.

This issue only affects HNS3, so we always enable
tx bounce buffer when smmu enabled to improve performance.

I'm sorry to nick pick on somewhat small details, but we really need a
fixes tag here to make 110% clear is a bugfix. I guess it could be the
commit introducing the support for the buggy H/W.

Hi Jijie,

That is a good point. But the much point of the Fixes tag is to indicate how
far back the fix should be backported. So I would say the ID of the patch
where the user would have first seen this problem - possibly the patch that
added the driver.

[PATCH V2 net 2/9] net: hns3: add sync command to sync io-pgtable

To avoid errors in pgtable prefectch, add a sync command to sync
io-pagtable.

In the case of large traffic, the TX bounce buffer may be used up.
At this point, we go to mapping/unmapping on TX path again.
So we added the sync command in driver to avoid hardware issue.

It's unclear to me what do you mean for large traffic. Is that large
packets instead?

Skimming over the previous patch, it looks like the for the bugger H/W
driver will use the bounce buffer for all packets with len < 64K. As
this driver does not support big tcp, such condition means all packets.

So its not clear to me the 'may' part - it looks like the critical path
will always happen on the bugged H/W

I thought the goal of the previous patch was to avoid such sync-up.

So I don't understand why it's there.

Sorry, actually not, I mean with tools like iperf3, we can hit the speed limit.
In this case, many packets are sent within a short period of time.
Therefore, the TX bounce buffer may be used up.
In this case, mapping/unmapping is used for packets that cannot use the TX bounce buffer.

Sorry for the unclear commit log.

Yes, we don't support big tcp, so <64K is worked for all packets. The 
large traffic

here is just want to describe a case that tx bounce buffer is used up, 
and there is

no enough space for new tx packets.

This is a supplement for the previous patch. We want all the tx packet can

be handled with tx bounce buffer path. But it depends on the remain space

of the spare buffer, checked by the function hns3_can_use_tx_bounce(). In

most cases, maybe 99.99%, it returns true. But once it return false by no

available space, the packet will be handled with the former path, which

will map/unmap the skb buffer. Then we will face the smmu prefetch risk 
again.

So I add a sync command in this case to avoid smmu prefectch,

just protects corner scenes.

[PATCH V2 net 3/9] net: hns3: fixed reset failure issues caused by the incorrect reset type

When a reset type that is not supported by the driver is input, a reset
pending flag bit of the HNAE3_NONE_RESET type is generated in
reset_pending. The driver does not have a mechanism to clear this type
of error. As a result, the driver considers that the reset is not
complete. This patch provides a mechanism to clear the
HNAE3_NONE_RESET flag and the parameter of
hnae3_ae_ops.set_default_reset_request is verified.

The error message:

[PATCH V2 net 5/9] net: hns3: Resolved the issue that the debugfs query result is inconsistent.

This patch modifies the implementation of debugfs:
When the user process stops unexpectedly, not all data of the file system
is read. In this case, the save_buf pointer is not released. When the user
process is called next time, save_buf is used to copy the cached data
to the user space. As a result, the queried data is inconsistent. To solve
this problem, determine whether the function is invoked for the first time
based on the value of *ppos. If *ppos is 0, obtain the actual data.

[PATCH V2 net 8/9] net: hns3: fixed hclge_fetch_pf_reg accesses bar space out of bounds issue

The TQP BAR space is divided into two segments. TQPs 0-1023 and TQPs
1024-1279 are in different BAR space addresses. However,
hclge_fetch_pf_reg does not distinguish the tqp space information when
reading the tqp space information. When the number of TQPs is greater
than 1024, access bar space overwriting occurs.
The problem of different segments has been considered during the
initialization of tqp.io_base. Therefore, tqp.io_base is directly used
when the queue is read in hclge_fetch_pf_reg.
