hmmm, the normal solution is to give RX_COPY_THRESHOLD a per-arch value. 
  Grep for 'rx_copybreak' in bunches of net drivers.

DaveM might squirm a bit but IMHO RX_COPY_THRESHOLD really is 
platform-dependent.
