I don't know.  I just mentioned it because it is easy to test, although
the method isn't too obvious.  Someone should document this somewhere.

Ouch.  well, OK.  I certainly hope you are at v3.13.10 or newer at
least.  Otherwise we know very well what the problem is...

One of the reasons for the series that went into v3.16 was making this
sort of debugging easier, enabling on-the-fly NCM aggregation parameter
tuning.  I'd certainly recommend taking advantage of it instead of
rebulding the driver every time you want to test the effect of some
minor change to the aggregation scheme.  And do feel free to add more
knobs if you need them.

Guys!
Don't forget I can test it - since I have a remote machine with 3.16 kernel 
and the device, at least for now.
So - Bjorn: do I need just to disable padding or do I need also to perform some 
other changes? I am sorry if I ask this a little bit stupidly, but I was 
alittle bit busy here.

Ok - but... you can upgrade your OS to that without any effort - simply apt-get-installing the required linux-image-3.16 package plus the -extra package. It's nothing more in case.

OK, I was under the impression that you would detect L3 behaviour
desire in OVS without an explicit action. Hence the worry on wrong
classification for L3 ACLs.

Whether we mark the packet and defer the MTU check or we check right
in the action is an implementation detail in the end. I think we
agree on concept level that we need an API to control behaviour.

It looks windows disable it, so I just follow it. Maybe enabling it will
be also OK. I have not tried. I do not find it in hw_cdc_driver.

Add 'learned_sync' flag to turn on/off syncing of learned FDB entries from
offload device to bridge's FDB.   Flag would be set/cleared in on SELF using
hwmode qualifier 'swdev'.  E.g.:

  $ sudo bridge link set dev swp1 hwmode swdev learning_sync on

  $ bridge -d link show dev swp1
  2: swp1 state UNKNOWN : <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 master br0 state forwarding priority 32 cost 2

Add NTF_EXT_LEARNED flag to neigh flags to indicate FDB entry learned by
device has been learned externally to bridge FDB.  For these entries,
add "external" annotation in bridge fdb show output:

  00:02:00:00:03:00 dev swp2 used 2/2 master br0 external
  00:02:00:00:03:00 dev swp2 self permanent

In the example above, 00:02:00:00:03:00 is shown twice on dev swp2.  The
first entry if from the bridge (master) and is marked as "external" by
the offload device.  The second entry is from the brport offload device (self),
and was learned by the device.

This will make your panic with PAX go away, but the offset to
the transport header is still wrong. Also, it is not just the
sit tunnel that has this problem. All ipv6 tunnels are affected.

I think the easiest is to fix it in _decode_session6().
Could you please try the patch below?

Subject: [PATCH] xfrm6: Fix transport header offset in _decode_session6.

skb->transport_header might not be valid when we do a reverse
decode because the ipv6 tunnel error handlers don't update it
to the inner transport header. This leads to a wrong offset
calculation and to wrong layer 4 informations. We fix this
by using the size of the ipv6 header as the first offset.

Hi:

While working on rhashtable it came to me that this whole concept
of arch_fast_hash is flawed.  CRCs are linear functions so it's
fairly easy for an attacker to identify collisions or at least
eliminate a large amount of search space (e.g., controlling the
last bit of the hash result is almost trivial, even when you add
a random seed).

So what exactly are we going to use arch_fast_hash for? Presumably
it's places where security is never goint to be an issue, right?

Even if security wasn't an issue, straight CRC32 has really poor
lower-order bit distribution, which makes it a terrible choice for
a hash table that simply uses the lower-order bits.

I really wonder why the xfrm_sk_policy_lookup codepath is taken here.
It looks like this is the processing of an inbound ipv4 packet that
is going to be rerouted to the output path by ipvs, so this packet
should not have socket context at all.

xfrm_sk_policy_lookup is called just if the packet has socket context
and the socket has an IPsec output policy configured. Do you use IPsec
socket policies?

You mentioned in the tread above that it does not happen with
3.17.4, so it should be fixed somehow. But I have no idea how

After some investigation on OpenvSwitch package, it seems before this
commit: 06021dcb "datapath: compat: Fix compilation 3.11" OpenvSwitch
package is doing GSO on its own.

rpl_ip_local_out
   -> tnl_skb_gso_segment
       ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
          Perform GSO  in above function
     -> ip_local_out
           .
           .
         -> ip_finish_output

Which means, when over-MTU-sized skb enter ip_local_out, it's not a gso
type skb, so the stack perform ip fragmentation, and send them out.
So, over-MTU-sized skb did travel through stack into outside.

Why not dropping such OpenvSwitch level GSO operation after 3.10?

Hi,

I mount my rootfs over the network using NFS_ROOT and a NFSv4 server.
Everything worked fine until next-20141201 (it works fine with next-20141128).
I was wondering if people had the same issue.

1. I did not change my network settings
2. I did not change my nfs server settings
3. I did not changes my hw
