From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Pablo Neira Ayuso Subject: [PATCH 2/4] netfilter: nf_tables: use u32 for chain use counter Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2014 10:53:01 +0200 Message-ID: <1402390383-5185-2-git-send-email-pablo@netfilter.org> References: <1402390383-5185-1-git-send-email-pablo@netfilter.org> Cc: kaber@trash.net To: netfilter-devel@vger.kernel.org Return-path: Received: from mail.us.es ([193.147.175.20]:35052 "EHLO mail.us.es" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1751082AbaFJIxQ (ORCPT ); Tue, 10 Jun 2014 04:53:16 -0400 In-Reply-To: <1402390383-5185-1-git-send-email-pablo@netfilter.org> Sender: netfilter-devel-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: Since 4fefee5 ("netfilter: nf_tables: allow to delete several objects from a batch"), every new rule bumps the chain use counter. However, this is limited to 16 bits, which means that it will overrun after 2^16 rules. Use a u32 chain counter and check for overflows (just like we do for table objects).
