Another option:
Yesterday there were two posts on the docs@yoctoproject.org list about "mixin" layers [1][2].
There is already an own repository for this [3].
So the best option seems to be creating a branch like "kirkstone/boost" (for latest boost
release) or "kirkstone/boost-1.82" (for a specific boost release).
It looks like patches for the meta-lts-mixin layer should be posted to [4]. Searching for
"mixin" on the web interface shows some example messages. If you could put me on CC, I am
happy to test your patches.
