Sounds like the wrong way to go about it.  Citrix uses a special GDI
hook/graphics driver to retrieve the lower primitives, which is what you
would want in a rootless GDI to X11 bridge.

Definitely.  I've never been impressed with VNC, other than that it
works everwhere on many platforms.
