I don't think you have any authority to say or do sthg like this. You can ask for the message to be deleted from the lis but what, who gives you a mandat to denonciate this this way ? I don't say that it was a good idea to make this disk image available, but the goal has never be, IMHO, to steal anything. It's a mistake, so you're right to say it, to claim that this kind of thing shouldn't happen, and to give advices to solve the problem. And what the hell is a school concerned with this ? Really a stupid idea...
