As odd as it seems, I have seen this problem before and thats what "cured"
it...

... yeah, I think I've seen that the makefile rules are not complete
when it comes to dependencies. But I am too lazy to do anything about
it...

Tried that first thing - didn't work. The problem is persistent and
reproducible, hence my posting.
