I suppose there's a reason, but why not trigger or set a flag on actual
HLT instruction executed (while interrupts disabled)? That would avoid
the kludge of peeking behind the instruction pointer.
I'm no expert, but perhaps such flag is already part of the CPU
emulation and can simply be read? If not it doesn't seem like such a bad
feature to add...
