I am running ProMespis-b3 (Debian/Linux derivative). I downloaded
qemu-snapshot-2005-04-07_23.tar.bz2 from http://www.dad-answers/qemu.
After unarchiving, did a ./configure and make, it compiled without
errors and installed.
When invoked, no errors are displayed but the window does not come up.
$ qemu -cdrom plan9.iso -boot d
same behavior with other iso files. Any pointers will be appreciated.

You will likely notice that in the summary after ./configure runs it
states that it couldn't find SDL. SDL development headers and libraries
are necessary for qemu graphics.
