At least as of this moment, version 2 has been applied upstream, so this version is incremental. Although I would prefer to apply these patches, I'm also a little surprised how quickly they were accepted. I had thought I had already missed the merge window. If the ultimate decision is to leave in some or all of the version 2 patches, then we should probably also include the corresponding version 3 incremental patches. Otherwise, if some or all of them are reverted for the release, I can post a version 4 with version 3 squashed in later. Overall, the first four patches of version 2 seem more like simple bug fixes than the last two. Maybe keep at least the first 4 (possilby with just the first patch of version 3 as well)?
