[Qemu-devel] Installation on MacOS X?

Hi All,

I am one of probably many who have heard about QEMU
through Jean-Michel Pouré's posts on the Morphix
development forum
(http://www.morphix.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=1167&forum=3&jump=1&PHPSESSID=1eecf9e9d86d244e3133c858981c7cd5),
and would love to use it to develop Morphix.  However,
I do most of my developing on my Power Book running
MacOS X, via Virtual PC, which isn't the fastest or
best emulator.  I have tried to compile the software,
but it comes up with many errors (gcc 3.1).  If anyone
has any info on how to get QEMU installed to MacOS X,
that would be great!

Mac OS X is not yet supported by Qemu :(

Hmm, according to Jean-Michel Pouré's post I linked
to, I should be able to get Qemu installed on MacOS X:

"qemu was ported to MacOSx, FreeBSD and other
platforms."

Is it really not possible to get Qemu installed on
MacOS X?

Yes you can install, but you won't be able to launch any system due to 
some bugs in the port. If you want to have a look to it or want to 
merge the code to the qemu main tree, you can see it on the 
OpenDarwin.org cvs:

Sorry, I was refering to the system chart 
(http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu) where it is written
that PowerPc system emulation is in 'Dev'. 

In fact, I have no precise idea. I am very new to Qemu.

My usability tests for the PC platform can be found there:

where I try to test the main GNU/Linux systems.

These are the only information I can confirm.
