What excactly did you do to make it work in Debian?
Also, the bugreport has not bin made yet - I could do it and link to
this mailinglist, but other are probably better than me explaining the
issue.

Dear all,
I tried to compile Qemu under Debian SID today CVS version without success.
Apparently, the -lgpm is missing during linking:
gcc -static -Wl,-T,/home/jmpoure/projets/qemu/qemu/i386-vl.ld -o qemu-fast
vl.o osdep.o block.o monitor.o ide.o ne2000.o pckbd.o vga.o sb16.o dma.o
oss.o fdc.o mc146818rtc.o serial.o i8259.o i8254.o pc.o gdbstub.o sdl.o
libqemu.a -lm -lSDL -lpthread -lm -ldl -lasound -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11
-lXext -lvga -laa -L/usr/lib -laa -lm -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 -lslang
-lncurses -lutil
The problem comes from "sdl-config", which does not report the -lgpm library.
sdl-config belongs to the libsdl1.2-dev package.
No bugs have been reported on the Debian tracking system:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?which=pkg&data=+libsdl1.2-dev&
Can someone running Debian SID confirm the bug,
so that we can open a bug on the Debian bug tracking system?
Or is it a ./configure script problem?
Cheers,
Jean-Michle

Hello,
I can confirm the bug, and I had to manually edit sdl-config to build qemu.
Regards,
David
