[Qemu-devel] qemu 0.7.1 + dkms-qvm86-0.7.1 (mandriva cooker) produces version mismatch

I am running a mandriva 2005 le with qemu 0.7.1 from cooker and the
dkms-qvm86 package.

Qemu works fine.

But when I try to use the qvm86 I get following error:

 

Version mismatch between kqemu module and qemu (00010000 00010100) -
disabling kqemu use

 

How to solve this?

How to solve this, where to change the version info? I have also tried
the src.rpm packages.

IIRC you need to apply a patch to the source code (of qemu), specifically
kqemu.c [Paul Brook should correct me if I'm mistaken.]

Hello,
do you use the same package version of qemu and dkms-qvm86 ?

Here qemu-0.7.1-3mdk works fine (at least enables the acceleration)
with dkms-qvm86-0.7.1-3mdk.

And anyway running cooker packages on stable version is not a good idea. 
Please rebuild the rpm on 2005 or use the version from
http://fasmz.org/~pterjan/rpm/10.2/

Actually also make sure you don't have a stale qvm86 module already prior
to the dkms'ed variant from MDK. e.g. one you manually built and placed in
a more prioritized location than the output of dkms builds.
