What version of QEMU are you using? 0.9.0? Or are you using CVS? Could you describe the failure at all? (Any console output would help.) I installed in graphical mode from DVD. Everything works and is stable including, unfortunately (was playing Gweled.... that loop gets really old really fast), sound.
