The end result is that the virtio-net device has more of the features of a real hardware NIC and can be configured to drop packets the guest isn't interested in seeing. Thanks for the comments. This version fixes the accesses to guest memory and defining the broadcast and vlan match buffers as const. Patches 1-3 are the same as last time. Previous note about save image versions between qemu and kvm still applies.
