Endianness trouble here.

Please do what the Linux virtio_mmio driver does:

  magic = readl(vm_dev->base + VIRTIO_MMIO_MAGIC_VALUE);
  if (magic != ('v' | 'i' << 8 | 'r' << 16 | 't' << 24)) {
