i have winxp and linux installed i use rarely my windows system

can i use my installed windows system with qemu?

if not

how to install windows under linux with qemu?

Both is possible.
Be sure to read the docs for yourself before posting to the ml.
Asking questions like that is not only annoying, but wastes others disk 
space and time.
Start with googling for help, search the ml-archieve etc .

A little rough response given that to answer his primary question you
had to refer him to Bochs documentation, Bochs being a completely
different project...

I looked around for the same answer in the QEMU docs and didn't find it
(I asked on the list too, after looking, but didn't happen to elicit a
response...).

Thanks though for pointing out the Bochs documentation on the subject,
it should help me too...

That completely different, really ?
QEMU uses the *same* (even if extended to emulate a Cirrus Logic 5446 
PCI card) vga Bios as Bochs and Plex86 do (and did before).
Including the VESA extentions once written for Bochs.
QEMU 0.6.0 can use (automatically detects) fd/hdd images actually 
created for Bochs by Bochs project's 'bximage' program.
Most essential disks skills are *very* similar.

I never asked such a question.
Thanks to google anything can be found easily - by everyone. But one has 
to look for it.

I just checked QEMU's main page and I found at least 2 (two) references 
  / links to the Bochs project.
