Having just installed the qemu 0.6.2 version on Debian sarge with W98 as guest and must admit, that I’m quite impressed, how nice everything works. Thanks to all of you guys, who made that possible – great work – I really love it!!! There seems to be only one problem with self-burned CD-Roms: when I insert a self-burned CD-Rom into my CD-Rom driver, W98 on qemu displays only one file on that CD-Rom even if there are more on it. I tried this with different self-burned CD-Roms, with the same result. Do you have any idea, how to solve that problem? Many thanks in advance for any help. Cheers, Peter ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 7+ messages in thread

Also, do you use any tricks like MSCDEX in autoexec or something with windows? Thanks for your suggestion - qemu seems to accept single session CD-Rs only. I tried several single session (self-burned of course ;-)) single session CD-Rs and they all worked. Again many thanks to you for your help!!! Cheers, Peter ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 7+ messages in thread

I think the problem is that windows 98 only works natively with ISO 9660 CD-ROMs and not UDF CD-ROMs. Try searching for docs on that, no doubt you'll find a utility to get it to understand UDF CDs. -=- James Mastros ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 7+ messages in thread

Adaptec used to have such a utility called "DirectCD" (I think this was freely available for download). Cheers, Mark ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 7+ messages in thread
