this is a patch that finally solved my problems on linux systems where
/proc/sys/vm/mmap_min_addr is set to non zero.
from my point of view: pls apply. i have tested it on arm targets Debian
Lenny, Ubuntu 9.04 and Fedora 10. works fine for me.
