[Qemu-devel] NetBSD5.0.2 SPARC Success

NetBSD5.0.2/Sparc installed faultlessly and seamlessly using QEMU from 
GIT with a Linux/x86_64 host.

I obtained the installation CD from 
http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/iso/5.0.2/sparccd-5.0.2.iso.

The ran these commands:

$ qemu-img create -f qcow2 netbsd5.0.2-sparc 2G
$ qemu-system-sparc -cdrom sparccd-5.0.2.iso -hda netbsd5.0.2-sparc -m 
96 -boot d -nographic
$ qemu-system-sparc -hda netbsd5.0.2-sparc -m 96 -boot c -nographic

One hiccup to be aware of: for vi to work in the guest, resize your 
terminal window to 34 lines.

Nice! Actually I'd expect that all NetBSD versions after 4.0 and
before 1.5.3 (inclusive) which work on the real machines are able to
be installed under qemu. If they are not it is a yet unknown qemu bug.
(The versions 1.6-3.x can't be installed because of a known bug).

I use eval `resize` to set cols & rows shell variables. stty would do too.
