The emulation was fixed a while ago (IIRC 0.14+ works correctly).
upstream udev got rules to enable pm for (fixed) qemu hid devices.  So
with recent linux guests this shouldn't be an issue any more.  Older
linux distros and windows guests do still suffer without manual
invention though.
