I tend to agree that we should revert the QMP change; without a way to introspect whether the '*device' parameter exists, libvirt can't use it, and we already agreed that we really need something better anyways with regards to fd passing, image format selection, the ability to limit to one head at a time, and so forth. I'd rather defer it all to 1.6 when we can get the entire design right, than to have 1.5 expose something that can't be reliably used and which might change based on designing the rest of the improvements. --=20 Eric Blake eblake redhat com +1-919-301-3266 Libvirt virtualization library http://libvirt.org ------enig2PUEEUPOSVPLDQBGRFSNG Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.13 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Public key at http://people.redhat.com/eblake/eblake.gpg Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJReaZHAAoJEKeha0olJ0NqcJoH/ilJfc18Md/vUAXTz8go0XzA YjPLABTX/gUgk7ASEcdkkVUizWW2Hlqm9IDeI3uWEO24NhcO1OLWiFQwg5s9PQEl D2LtGeXfBpjo9ytwU2yfh2VqvLo+XPr2vsTklp5mpW1DIAY/ULGAUDCdWgqIZVp2 gkORtW2xb/LTUg9fCyGrIngWqrhxuS4RH/YjUlIFWFWZiaMSUeJxvlp+fc1mhmcy j9kcF7bePvpx4077R/aYyAaJVQNROp9gt5E9/wOlDJr9WTkEdpLI3olMw4l8iW6r 6mTjPiy2mRQxKiziCYTdFCV3/38VimfQD3NRwURj8EJ7RZ3fSelVqmGGcIlJP8U= =vrwO -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------enig2PUEEUPOSVPLDQBGRFSNG--
