Host: Fedora 7, 64-bit, Qemu 0.9, AMD Opteron.

Guest: Solaris 10 (32-bit, 2005 release) aborts install in the middle.
This shouldn't happen. It works on VMware.

Is there any bugzilla ?

If you are using Qemu 0.9, not CVS, there are several bugs
that have been fixed in the CVS code which fixed Solaris installs
in QEMU.

Have you checked out the instructions on the OpenSolaris site?
And am I correct to assume that you mean Solaris x86? Solaris sparc
doesn't install at all on sparc32 for me, it wants sparc64.

I'd strongly recommend using Solaris 10mu3 -- I got it to install. I have
an image but I'd have to mail it to you on a DVD if you want it...

Some news about Solaris on Qemu:

My Solaris is v2005, x86-64 + x86 on the same DVD. I installed the
x86-64 version.

Host: Fedora 7, 64-bit, Qemu CVS 2007-07-12, Intel Xeon.

Now the situation is better, Solaris dies after the install, not
during the install.

So I did:
1. upgraded Qemu from 0.9 to CVS.

I didn't:
1. Solaris U3 (I wanted the original Solaris to run, but I may try
this version as well)
2. The instructions at opensolaris website cannot be used with Solaris
10 2005 release. They are specific to GRUB. This ver of Solaris uses
some other bootloader. Which one?

Ugh. don't bother with that version. Download S10 U3 (11/06) or S10 U4
(07/07) [if it's been released yet]

odd message. Again, I think you are better served by running a version
of Solaris that isn't stone age (at this point).

The bootloader for Solaris 10 you are running is called device configuration
assistant. Please try a more current version with grub.
