Maybe I am not looking in the right place, but I was wondering what functionality has been tested or is known with running a QEMU emulated Solaris 8 SPARC OS on a Linux 64-bit intel platform.
When I look at downloads I see a sparc-test-0.2.tar.gz QEMU disk image. I assume that running Solaris 8 would be in the experimental or developmental phase?
Thank you in advance for any input.

The kernel can be booted with a proprietary firmware, the details:
http://tyom.blogspot.com/2009/12/solaris-under-qemu-how-to.html
Mark Cave-Ayland is working hard to get Solaris working under
OpenBIOS, so the how-to has all the chances to get obsoleted pretty
soon. :)
