Is this at all possible?

Is it worth it?

Where can I download or purchase a copy of SunOS 4.1.4 to try this out? I
have Kernel source code (It's labeled Solaris 1.1.2) but don't actually have
an .iso for it.

Jonathan

Probably depends on what you want to do - nowadays Solaris 8 is often
the oldest supported version for software - I'd guess that to be
SunOS 5.8?

Once sparc64 emulation is complete enough the OpenSolaris kernel
source could be used, in case you were thinking of using it for
debugging.

Possible Yes, but not at the moment.

Worth It. For me yes!!!!

4.1.4 does not boot (in fact it hangs, not crashes) in Qemu yet. Each time
Blue Swirl posts a patch i test it, plus other Sparc Solaris versions up to
7 ;-) None fully boot. Some hang, some crash during start.

Difficult to ascertain how long before there is a chance for it to work.
