Hi,

Looks like the boot block gets loaded correctly (nice data point). It's a 
bit confusing to see UFS in the error message, shouldn't that be ISOFS or 
CDFS?

You could try debugging that further by making a new Proll image with 
DEBUG_OBP enabled in openprom.c file.

I'm now in the middle of switching from Proll to OpenHackWare for the prom. 
OHW has much better OpenFirmware structure, making it better choice for 
Sparc64.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but the line "Kernel loaded" surely the size 
should be somewhat larger than 0K?

Unless the Solaris install CDs have changed since I least investigated
them: no. They contains a partition table (which usually confuses
Linux quite a bit) and several UFS partitions. So the CD is actuall
very similar to an installed Solaris system, but it is read only of
course.

For Qemu that should be good news: once the installer works, there is
a good chance that the system will boot, too.

Hi,

That (confusing) message wasn't updated after CD/HDD boot was added. It just 
shows the pre-loaded kernel size, 0K is OK for CD/HDD boot.

Trying to install Solaris 8 SPARC into qemu (tarball 0.71) in a 2.6.11 
system.

Issuing the following command

And receive the errors in the attachment - any ideas?
