There are plenty of other available web archives, if you insist on using
web archives instead of direct subscription.
Gmane is not what it used to be after last year's shutdown and transfer
of ownership; this used to be the archive on gmane:
http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.qemu
although you are correct that it doesn't really work now.
As for posting: ALL first-time posts (whether or not you subscribe) are
held for human moderation; once your first post goes through, your email
is whitelisted so you can make further posts without delay, whether or
not you subscribe.
