Hello,

I would like to ask for tips building a linux kernel tailored for using in
qemu (i386-softmmu), are there options that could lead to better
performances? I am using a 2.6.9 on host like on guest, all the devices
emulated by qemu are recognized, I have no problems with that, but what
processor model to choose, what about rtc, preemption, io scheduler to
choose ... just to have the right set of feature without unadapted ones.

Oh, I have another interrogation, I can't get X with cirrus driver to
exceed 640x480, the log says something like 800x600: no mode of this name.
I can have better resolution with fbdev or vesa, but perhaps I miss a
setting somewhere, man cirrus is of no help.
Running X with fbdev driver on top of vesafb is ok, but on top of
cirrusfb this produce wrong colors, the server start anyway.
