I think that such overlapping ranges are not allowed. It triggers a
warn:

        } else if (pte) {                                                           
                /* We require an unmap first */                                 
                WARN_ON(!(cfg->quirks & IO_PGTABLE_QUIRK_NO_WARN));             
                return -EEXIST;
