Date: Tue, 17 Nov 2015 14:42:02 -0800	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <144780012220279@kroah.com> (raw)

This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled

    sit: fix sit0 percpu double allocations

to the 4.2-stable tree which can be found at:
    http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary

The filename of the patch is:
     sit-fix-sit0-percpu-double-allocations.patch
and it can be found in the queue-4.2 subdirectory.

If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree,

Subject: sit: fix sit0 percpu double allocations

From: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com>

[ Upstream commit 4ece9009774596ee3df0acba65a324b7ea79387c ]

sit0 device allocates its percpu storage twice :
- One time in ipip6_tunnel_init()
- One time in ipip6_fb_tunnel_init()

Thus we leak 48 bytes per possible cpu per network namespace dismantle.

ipip6_fb_tunnel_init() can be much simpler and does not
return an error, and should be called after register_netdev()

Note that ipip6_tunnel_clone_6rd() also needs to be called
after register_netdev() (calling ipip6_tunnel_init())

Fixes: ebe084aafb7e ("sit: Use ipip6_tunnel_init as the ndo_init function.")
