There's a weird build error here test-building one (but not all) of my
x86_32 kernel configurations:

Some checking suggests this is not caused by the current patch set;
instead it's build environment now using gcc 5.3.1 as provided by
Debian stretch. The 4.9.2 compiler in jessie works fine.
If anybody can shed some light on this ... I'm mostly curious.
Kernel 4.4 builds fine, 4.5 has linker issues on powerpc, something
I'm aware of since the 4.5-rc times but haven't managed to investigate
yet.
