Subject: patch "USB: uas and storage: Add US_FL_BROKEN_FUA for another JMicron JMS567" added to usb-linus
Date: Fri, 08 Dec 2017 17:31:52 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <15127507123740@kroah.com> (raw)

This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled

USB: uas and storage: Add US_FL_BROKEN_FUA for another JMicron JMS567

to my usb git tree which can be found at
    git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/usb.git
in the usb-linus branch.

The patch will show up in the next release of the linux-next tree
(usually sometime within the next 24 hours during the week.)

The patch will hopefully also be merged in Linus's tree for the
next -rc kernel release.

If you have any questions about this process, please let me know.

Subject: USB: uas and storage: Add US_FL_BROKEN_FUA for another JMicron JMS567
 ID

There is another JMS567-based USB3 UAS enclosure (152d:0578) that fails
with the following error:

[sda] tag#0 FAILED Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE
[sda] tag#0 Sense Key : Illegal Request [current]
[sda] tag#0 Add. Sense: Invalid field in cdb

The issue occurs both with UAS (occasionally) and mass storage
(immediately after mounting a FS on a disk in the enclosure).

Enabling US_FL_BROKEN_FUA quirk solves this issue.

This patch adds an UNUSUAL_DEV with US_FL_BROKEN_FUA for the enclosure
for both UAS and mass storage.
