The patch below does not apply to the 4.9-stable tree.
If someone wants it applied there, or to any other stable or longterm
tree, then please email the backport, including the original git commit

Subject: [PATCH] NFS: Ensure O_DIRECT reports an error if the bytes
read/written is 0
If the attempt to resend the I/O results in no bytes being read/written,
we must ensure that we report the error.
