From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 Return-Path: From: Greg Kroah-Hartman Subject: [PATCH 4.4 266/342] libceph: dont spam dmesg with stray reply warnings To: Cc: Greg Kroah-Hartman , , Ilya Dryomov , Alex Elder Message-Id: <20160301234536.500890670@linuxfoundation.org> In-Reply-To: <20160301234527.990448862@linuxfoundation.org> References: <20160301234527.990448862@linuxfoundation.org> Date: Tue, 01 Mar 2016 23:55:13 +0000 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: linux-kernel-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: 4.4-stable review patch. If anyone has any objections, please let me know. ------------------ From: Ilya Dryomov commit cd8140c673d9ba9be3591220e1b2226d9e1e40d3 upstream. Commit d15f9d694b77 ("libceph: check data_len in ->alloc_msg()") mistakenly bumped the log level on the "tid %llu unknown, skipping" message. Turn it back into a dout() - stray replies are perfectly normal when OSDs flap, crash, get killed for testing purposes, etc. Signed-off-by: Ilya Dryomov Reviewed-by: Alex Elder Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman --- net/ceph/osd_client.c | 4 ++-- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) --- a/net/ceph/osd_client.c +++ b/net/ceph/osd_client.c @@ -2843,8 +2843,8 @@ static struct ceph_msg *get_reply(struct mutex_lock(&osdc->request_mutex); req = __lookup_request(osdc, tid); if (!req) { - pr_warn("%s osd%d tid %llu unknown, skipping\n", - __func__, osd->o_osd, tid); + dout("%s osd%d tid %llu unknown, skipping\n", __func__, + osd->o_osd, tid); m = NULL; *skip = 1; goto out;
