I tested u-boot over sh platforms and no size impact happens (just
differencies of few bytes, you can verify this by yourself)
About performances, really I obtain a 15% improvement during decompression.
Moreover I have to say that, working for my company, we have improved more
and more u-boot time just applying other patches regarding different area
other than the zlib common one.
Please, let me know if my patch will be useful for the community.
